Small Pellet Plant Video For Reed In The UkraineBelow is an installation of a small pellet plant in the Ukraine. The pellet plant has been designed to be highly automated and process whole reeds in to biomass fuel pellets in just a few minutes. As you can see from the video the whole process is controlled through the master control panel. This also alerts the operator to any potential issues at any part of the plant that needs their attention. The process starts on the top platform with the whole reeds. These are initially processed through a shredder. The shredded reed is then collected via a fan and sent through a cyclone separator which then deposits the material into a silo. The silo has sensors that alert the operator once the hopper is full and the silo also has pulsers to stop the milled reed in the hopper from bridging. A trough auger now meters the material into the hammer mill, also if required a small amount of modified corn starch can be added. This can help to bind the pellets better and achieve a higher productivity in the pellet mill. The pellet mill produces around 400 kgs per hour of reed pellets with a diameter of 8mm's. The pellets then go over a fines sieve before been carried up a cooling conveyor to be packaged as desired. These pellets can be used for various uses, including combustion. However these pellets will produce a higher ash content than most wood pellet fuels. Therefore these pellets can only be used in multi-fuel pellet stoves and boilers. For more information on setting up a small scale pellet plant please enter your details on the next page and you will receive a series of brochures on pellet mills and pellet plants. You will also be able to see a small selection of the videos from our YouTube channel. If you are interested in pellet testing we have an ideal solution in the Mini Pellet Mill. It can even operate from a standard domestic single phase plug socket. |
