Wood Pellet ManufacturerUsing wood pellets as a heating fuel is a modern alternative to using logs stoves and boilers. Wood pellet fuel popularity has grown immensely over the last decade, particularly in Sweden, the rest of Europe and the US. This has led to a dramatic increase in the number wood pellet manufacturer. The two key factors driving the success of of the wood pellet is price advantage over fossil fuel energy, and drastically reduced carbon emissions compared to fossil fuels. At PelHeat we also try to convey the economic benefits that wood pellets can bring. At a time when we need jobs and economic security more than ever, supporting your local wood pellet manufacturer can provide jobs and keep more money within the local community without spending it abroad on foreign oil. There are however still lessons to be learnt by wood pellet manufacturers. Specially on the type of pellet fuel they produce and the source of their raw material supplies. Wood Pellet Shortage and Premium Pellet When the recent economic recession started to hit, it was the housing market which took the first major impact. As mortgages dried up, so did the demand for new housing and in tern the demand for timber for construction. Without this timber processing, there was very little supply of the sawdust the wood pellet manufacturer depends on to produce premium grade fuel pellets. This therefore led to a massive price rise in the cost of sawdust, and supplies were also thin to ground. This lead to wood pellet production coats increasing, and therefore an increase in the cost of pellet fuel. Also, when the economic recession hit, oil producers knew that they had to lower their prices. For the oil market this is very simple due the high profit margins. Therefore at a time when people had very little money, the price of wood pellets went up and the price of oil fell. This has placed a huge obstacle to the wood pellet manufacturers, which some failed under. Wood Pellet Sales and Fuel Pellet Quality The wood pellet shortage and high pellet prices was caused by the market focusing too heavily on only one grade of wood pellet fuel, and ignoring most of the other resources which can be produced into wood pellets which generate the same heat, but just slightly more ash. Many pellet consumers today would be willing to accept more ash for a cheaper more readily available source of fuel pellets. However due to poor pellet burner designs, many consumers do not even have this choice. Many pellet stove and boiler manufactures have also been so focused on the premium pellet market, they build their burners with minimum specifications to only handle low ash pellets. Many also prefer this, as it makes it much cheaper to produce a low ash tolerant wood pellet burner. Wood Pellet Mills and Fuel Pellet Making The wood pellet market needs more divers wood pellet manufacturers. There is a sufficient market for locally produced biomass fuel pellets made from local resources. At PelHeat we specialise in small scale wood pellet production. Firstly a hammer mill is used to reduce the wood to small particles. These particles are then dried to be then fed into the wood pellet mill. Here under high pressure and heat the pellet is made. PelHeat Wood Pellet Production Guide At PelHeat we have many years of experience in pellet production, and we provide a pellet production consultation service. The PelHeat guide download will show you how to make wood and other fuel pellets. |
